The Moon Farm

Friday with Faith's class we went to the Moon Farm. Faith, Jacob and Hope were very excited to go to the moon farm. I had never been before so I was excited to see what everyone has been talking about. So I loaded up the van and set forth on our adventure on Faith's field trip.

When we got to the moon farm there was so much that the kids didn't know where to start, but that was decided quickly due to the Peacock that was walking around and squawking. The kids wanted to know why they had such long feathers, and what there names were. So I told them all the knowledge that I knew and that was they taste like chicken.

We got to play with bunny's, pet goat's, see all different kinds of birds and pet a cow. But the best part was when they pulled out the pony named Apache, and the kids got to ride him. Jacob said that he was a real cowboy now I just laughed.

They had lots of builds that represent different cultures,Italy, Japan, Sweden, Vikings, Africa, etc. At the end the kids got to played on the merry go round, ride the barrel, and ride a train down the block and back. It was allot of fun and the kids cant wait to go back.

A new home

Derek and I went in and got pre approved for a home loan. Now all we need is to find the home to live in. With the 8,000.00 tax for home buyers coming to an end were hoping to see more that we would like to buy but for the moment its pretty picked over. I'm excited to be able to like in a place that if I want to paint the walls I can. Derek doesn't care for painted walls but while the cats away the mice will play right.
The kids are pretty excited about looking for a new home. They want something that has enough room to play in, and I don't blame them. They ask anytime I slow down if that's our new home or not, I just laugh and say I don't know yet. Faith and Hope want a pink and purple room and the boys want blue and orange, don't think any of the houses will come pre colored.
So for now we look and take our time in finding something that we want. Whats the rush in buying a house we don't like.

Shipping my kids to Russia

So I'm really having problems with the fact that a lady would take a child adopt it then after having the child in your house for 7 months decide "I'm sorry this isn't working out I'd like a refund and return him. Ive done foster care for 2 years and all children are difficult. There not going to be problem free. If you wanted a child problem free start with a baby you'll have better luck. Then the LADY if that's what you want to call her decides to put the child (age of 7) on a plane by his self (yes I know she paid the few extra dollars to have the attendant to keep an eye on the kid) and send him back, not just a few hour trip either OVER SEA'S. I'm sorry but I have a 7 yr old and even putting him on the bus in the mornings he acts up and its a 15-20 min bus ride. I know the attendant was watching him, and taking care of all the other people on the plane, and getting everything that they need and also KEEPING AN EYE on a 7 yr old (yeah right).
The other thing is she adopted the little Russian boy so doesn't that make him a U.S citizen. I know we have enough children in the U.S that are in need of home's let alone sticking a child from another country in our foster care system, but still think about it. Now this poor boy isn't loved in his family in Russia or in the U.S, what the poor kid to do.
Then there saying that the women that did all this didn't really do anything wrong she payed the airlines extra to watch the kid, and there was someone waiting on the other side to pick him up. There's got to be something that they can charge the stupid (yes I used that word. I know its a bad word at my house too) women with. The first few months with my kids were the hardest months and the are very well behaved children and they listen now. I know I probley don't know the whole story or what the child did that would make a person put a child on a plane and ship them off to Russia.

The Bumble Bee

So Hope my 3yr old is really into bumble bee's for some reason. She was a bumble bee for Halloween. She has bumble bee earrings(which she refuses to change), and for Easter she got a bumble bee egg and a bumble bee littlest pet shop doll. While at uncle Matt's house yesterday, Uncle Matt squished a wasp that was on the porch in front of her. Hope just stared in surprise then started to cry. I picked her up and asked what was the matter and her responds was Uncle Matt squished my bumble bee. She was really sad and mad at him. We explained it wasn't a bumble bee, that it was a wasp and that they are naughty bugs that sting. We gave her a stick and she ran around acting like a bumble bee and stung everyone with her stick which made her much more happy

Hooters

My brother Matthew won a contest for being one of the first 100 people in the door at Hooters for there grand opening. The prize for that is that he gets 50 free wings the first tuesday of the month for a year. With all that being said Matthew took My family and I to Hooters for dinner on tuesday.
The waitress was very suprised with how well behaved the kids were. While there Jacob my 6 yr old kept flirting with the waitress. When dinner was over and we were getting ready to leave the waitress was saying good bye when Jacob takes his pointer finger and starts tapping his cheek, the waitress kind of confused replys "what honey? Oh you want a kiss dont you ?" in which Jacob replys "yep" little turd I was so supprised what do you say to that except "Jacob Lee Knock it off" oh the drive home I asked the kids what they liked best about Hooters and Christian said that he liked all the TV's, Hope and Faith both liked the food and Jacob liked the Girls.....I'm in trouble arent I.

Easter 2010

We dyed and painted eggs at Grandma and Grandpa Burke's house the kids had so much fun and even painted there selves a little they dyed 4 dozen eggs and painted 4 dozen also they turned out very pretty. The kids were all sad when there was no more eggs to dye and wanted Mommy to go get more. Christian, Jacob, Faith and Hope were very excited and didnt want to go to bed so daddy let them stay up till 9pm when they all crashed.
Easter day started for Derek and I at 6:15am Dealing with easter stuff. The kids woke up at shortly after we got back into bed and were sneaking out to look at there baskets then running back to there rooms they did that for about 10-15 min before they got enough courage too sneak all the way out the table. The kids were super excited to have gotten easter baskets and all the goodies that came with it. Fed the kids breakfast and got dressed then went outside to look for eggs. Hope was so funny to watch this year due to her excitment when she would find an egg. We found 2 dozen real eggs and 48 plastic eggs with candy in them. It took us a little bit to find 2 of the real eggs but we found them all.
We headed out to gateway to spend the day along the river with Derek's family the kids had alot of fun with out falling in any cactus. The kids got to climb hills, throw rocks, fly kites, go for a ride on Richard's Rino, and play with all the cousin's.
We all got home From Gaetway safe took showers and went to bed what a great Easter with the kids.

With the cows

Derek and I took the kids to Gateway to help with the cows. Christian and Jacob were quite excited to be able to help and was willing to do almost anything. On the other hand the girls were quite happy staying on the other side of the fence playing in the dirt. Faith had to learn that when out in the sticks its ok to pee out side, and Hope had and experience of learning to poop out side which she was very confused about. We got all the cows taken care of and I even cut my finger trying to help feed the cows oh well guess I'm still that city girl.
